It works with messages sent using WordPress's <code>wp_mail()<\/code> function, including notifications from plugins that use that function.<\/p>\n\n<p>From the TechByIt SMTP admin menu, you can configure your server, choose the active provider, set a default sender, and send a test email.<\/p>\n\n<h4>Features<\/h4>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Custom SMTP configuration with host, port, encryption, authentication, and connection timeout settings.<\/li>\n<li>Default From name and email address settings.<\/li>\n<li>A test email form with success and error feedback.<\/li>\n<li>Encrypted storage for provider passwords and keys.<\/li>\n<li>Settings restricted to WordPress users with permission to manage site options.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h4>Available providers<\/h4>\n\n<p><strong>Custom SMTP<\/strong> is the only provider currently available for sending.<\/p>\n\n<p>Configuration forms are also included for Gmail, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Amazon SES, SendGrid, Mailgun, Brevo, and Postmark. Their sending transports and OAuth connections are not available yet.<\/p>\n\n<p>Message logging, dashboard statistics, retry, and resend are planned features. The Mail Logs page is currently a placeholder.<\/p>\n\n<h3>Development<\/h3>\n\n<p>The React and TypeScript source is in <code>admin\/src\/<\/code>; PHP source is in <code>src\/<\/code>. Build tooling is in <code>package.json<\/code> and <code>vite.config.ts<\/code>. Run <code>pnpm install --frozen-lockfile<\/code> and <code>pnpm build<\/code> to regenerate <code>dist\/<\/code>. The plugin package must include <code>composer.json<\/code>, <code>vendor\/<\/code>, and <code>dist\/<\/code>.<\/li>\n<li>Activate <strong>TechByIt SMTP<\/strong> from the WordPress <strong>Plugins<\/strong> screen.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>TechByIt SMTP \u2192 Providers<\/strong> and select <strong>Custom SMTP<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the SMTP host, port, and encryption settings supplied by your email service. Enable authentication and enter your username and password if required.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Save Settings<\/strong>, then <strong>Set as Active Provider<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>TechByIt SMTP \u2192 Settings<\/strong> to save your default From name and email address, if needed.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>TechByIt SMTP \u2192 Dashboard<\/strong>, enter a recipient address you control, and select <strong>Send Test Email<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p>The plugin requires WordPress 6.2 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer with JSON and OpenSSL support. If installing from source, run <code>composer install --no-dev<\/code> and <code>pnpm install --frozen-lockfile &amp;&amp; pnpm build<\/code> before activation.<\/p>\n\n<!--section=faq-->\n<dl>\n<dt id=\"do%20i%20need%20an%20smtp%20service%3F\"><h3>Do I need an SMTP service?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Yes. To send through Custom SMTP, you need access to an SMTP server and its connection details. TechByIt SMTP does not provide an email account or SMTP service.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"what%20happens%20when%20no%20provider%20is%20active%3F\"><h3>What happens when no provider is active?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>WordPress keeps its usual mail behavior. TechByIt SMTP starts routing mail through Custom SMTP after you configure and activate that provider.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"can%20i%20connect%20gmail%2C%20microsoft%20365%2C%20or%20an%20api%20provider%3F\"><h3>Can I connect Gmail, Microsoft 365, or an API provider?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Their dedicated configuration forms can save settings, but their sending transports are not implemented. Saving OAuth client credentials does not connect an account. Use Custom SMTP with a service that supplies compatible SMTP connection details.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"does%20a%20successful%20test%20guarantee%20inbox%20delivery%3F\"><h3>Does a successful test guarantee inbox delivery?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>No. Success means the SMTP server accepted the message. Check the recipient's inbox and spam folder to confirm where the message arrived.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"can%20i%20view%20email%20logs%20or%20resend%20messages%3F\"><h3>Can I view email logs or resend messages?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>These features are not available in this version. The Mail Logs page is a placeholder.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"why%20are%20saved%20passwords%20not%20shown%20in%20the%20form%3F\"><h3>Why are saved passwords not shown in the form?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Saved secrets are not displayed again. Leaving a saved password field blank keeps the existing value. Enter a new value to replace it. If your site's WordPress salts change, enter the credentials again.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"where%20are%20the%20development%20instructions%3F\"><h3>Where are the development instructions?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Install development dependencies with <code>composer install<\/code> and <code>pnpm install --frozen-lockfile<\/code>.
