YS LeadGen is a popup and lead capture plugin for WordPress. You build popups, slide-ins, announcement bars, and forms in a drag-and-drop visual builder, choose when and where they appear, and save the leads they collect in your own WordPress database. It can be used for newsletter signups, promotions, coupon offers, contact forms, and WooCommerce cart recovery.
The core plugin has no time limit, no view limit, and no subscriber cap. There is no separate account to create: everything is managed from your WordPress dashboard. If you already use an email marketing service, leads can also be sent to it automatically.
A separate PRO version adds extra templates and advanced tools. It is optional, and the free plugin is fully usable on its own.
Problems it helps with
- Visitors leave your site without subscribing, buying, or getting in touch.
- Email and popup tools that price by list size or pageviews get more expensive as your audience grows.
- Shoppers add products to the cart and never check out.
- The same offer is shown to every visitor, on every page and device.
- It is hard to tell which message, design, or offer actually works.
Campaign types
Each campaign type is built and published from the same visual builder.
- Lightbox popups – centered popups for email opt-ins, offers, and announcements.
- Exit intent popups – shown when a visitor is about to leave. On phones, where there is no mouse to track, exit intent uses a fast scroll-up gesture or a back-button tap instead.
- Floating bars and announcement bars – site-wide messages, promo codes, and shipping notices.
- Slide-ins – corner messages that do not cover the page content.
- Fullscreen campaigns – full-page offers or signup prompts.
- Inline and embedded forms – signup forms placed inside posts and pages.
- Spin-to-win wheels – an interactive way to offer coupons in exchange for an email address.
- Multi-step and conversational forms – break a long form into short steps or questions.
- Quizzes and Yes/No campaigns – ask a question and show a result or follow-up based on the answer.
- Countdown timers – add urgency to a sale or limited-time offer.
- Content lockers – ask for an email address before revealing content or a download.
- Social proof popups – show recent activity on your site.
- Video popups – YouTube, Vimeo, or self-hosted video.
- Floating badge buttons – a small button that opens a popup when clicked.
All campaigns are responsive. Start from a template in the library, or start blank, and change text, images, colors, and fonts to match your brand.
Targeting and triggers
You choose where, when, and to whom each campaign appears.
Triggers
- Exit intent, for visitors about to leave.
- Time delay, after a set number of seconds.
- Scroll depth, after a visitor reaches a percentage of the page.
- Click, on a button, link, image, or menu item.
- Scheduling, with start and end times so seasonal offers run automatically.
Targeting
- Specific pages, posts, categories, or WooCommerce products.
- Device type: desktop, tablet, or mobile.
- Visitor country or city.
- Traffic source, such as a search engine, an ad, or a referring site.
- Browser, operating system, and language.
- Cookie-based rules, behavior-based rules, and on-site retargeting, for example to stop showing an offer to people who already signed up.
- Frequency controls, so visitors are not shown the same campaign again and again.
- Rule combinations using AND/OR logic.
Popup code only loads on pages that have an active campaign.
Forms and lead capture
- Build contact forms, newsletter signup forms, and lead forms with the fields you need.
- Add conditional logic, file upload fields, and multi-step or conversational layouts.
- Create survey and NPS forms, and privacy policy acceptance forms.
- Collect payments inside a form with Stripe, PayPal, or Square. Test mode lets you try the setup before accepting live payments.
- Use reCAPTCHA to reduce bot submissions.
- Send form notifications to more than one recipient, with routing rules based on the answers given.
- Use SMTP for form notification emails.
- Review submissions, validation, reCAPTCHA results, integration syncs, and webhook results in an activity log.
- Already use another form plugin? Add popup triggers and tracking to Contact Form 7, WPForms, Gravity Forms, or Fluent Forms.
Leads from every campaign appear in one Leads dashboard and can be exported to CSV.
Integrations
- Email marketing – Mailchimp, HubSpot, Brevo, Klaviyo, ActiveCampaign, MailerLite, Kit, GetResponse, AWeber, Drip, and Omnisend. Leads collected by a campaign can be sent to the service you connect.
- Webhooks – send lead data to Zapier, Make, or any other URL you specify.
- Google Analytics 4 – send campaign events to your GA4 property.
- Page builders – works alongside Elementor, Divi, Gutenberg, Bricks, Beaver Builder, and Oxygen.
Data is only sent to an external service after you connect and enable it. See the External Services section below for details.
WooCommerce features
If you run a WooCommerce store, campaigns can respond to what shoppers are doing:
- Show a campaign when a product is added to the cart or when a shopper reaches checkout.
- Trigger campaigns based on cart value or the products in the cart.
- Generate and apply a discount code when a visitor signs up.
- Send cart recovery emails to shoppers who leave without buying.
- Show related products or bestsellers inside a campaign.
- Target specific products and categories.
- See cart recovery, coupon, and revenue figures in the analytics dashboard.
Analytics and A/B testing
- Views, conversions, and leads for each campaign.
- Form performance and conversion rates.
- Cart recovery and coupon performance for WooCommerce.
- Revenue reporting for WooCommerce campaigns.
- A/B testing to compare two versions of a campaign.
- Optional forwarding of campaign events to Google Analytics 4.
Privacy and compliance tools
- A cookie consent banner that can block tracking scripts until a visitor agrees.
- Age verification campaigns for restricted content or products.
- Privacy policy acceptance forms.
These tools help you build consent flows on your site. They do not replace your own review of the privacy laws that apply to you.

Who it is for
- Bloggers and publishers – grow a newsletter with popups, inline forms, and content lockers.
- Small businesses – collect enquiries, announce offers, and capture leads without paying per subscriber.
- Online stores – recover abandoned carts, offer coupons, and promote products with WooCommerce-aware campaigns.
- Agencies and freelancers – build campaigns for client sites inside WordPress, using the page builder already in place.
- Marketers – test different offers and check which campaigns bring in leads.
Example use cases
- Newsletter growth on a blog. Visitors read an article and leave. Set up an exit intent popup on posts only, connect it to your email service, and offer a free download.
- Cart recovery in a store. Shoppers reach checkout and hesitate. Show a campaign on the checkout page with a coupon, and use cart recovery emails to follow up with people who leave.
- Seasonal sale. Create a floating bar with a countdown timer, schedule its start and end dates, and limit it to desktop and mobile visitors from a specific country.
- Product recommendation quiz. Ask visitors two or three questions and send the result and their email address to your email service.
Try it
The live demo lets you build a campaign in your browser without creating an account. The documentation has setup guides, and the template library shows the available designs.
External Services
YS LeadGen does not contact any external service until you enable a feature that needs one. The services below are used only in the situations described.
Google reCAPTCHA – used to block spam submissions on forms where you turn reCAPTCHA on. When a form loads or is submitted, the visitor’s IP address and browser interaction data are sent to Google. Terms | Privacy policy
Stripe – used when you add a Stripe payment field to a form. The payment amount and the details needed to process the payment are sent to Stripe when a visitor submits the form. Terms | Privacy policy
PayPal and Square – used when you add a PayPal or Square payment field to a form. The payment amount and the details needed to process the payment are sent to the provider when a visitor submits the form. PayPal | Square
Email marketing services – used when you connect one in Integrations. The lead’s submitted details, such as email address and name, are sent to the service when a visitor submits a campaign that is linked to it. Supported services: Mailchimp, HubSpot, Brevo, Klaviyo, ActiveCampaign, MailerLite, Kit, GetResponse, AWeber, Drip, and Omnisend. Each service’s own terms and privacy policy apply.
Webhooks (Zapier, Make, or another URL) – used when you add a webhook to a campaign. Lead data is sent to the URL you enter each time the campaign captures a lead. Zapier | Make
Google Analytics 4 – used when you enable GA4 event tracking. Campaign events, such as views and conversions, are sent to your Google Analytics property. Terms | Privacy policy
YouTube and Vimeo – used when you add a video popup that embeds a video from one of these services. The visitor’s browser loads the player from the provider, which may receive the visitor’s IP address. YouTube | Vimeo
Privacy
YS LeadGen runs on your WordPress site. It does not collect personal information unless you create forms or connect third-party services.
Stored on your site: submitted form fields and the page URL where the lead was captured, campaign analytics such as views and conversions, and activity logs for form campaigns. Leads can be viewed in the Leads dashboard and exported to CSV.
Cookies: the plugin uses cookies to remember whether a visitor has seen, dismissed, or converted on a campaign, and to support targeting rules such as location.
Sent to third parties: only when you enable an integration, webhook, payment provider, reCAPTCHA, or analytics feature. See the External Services section for what is sent and when.
You remain responsible for your website’s privacy policy and for meeting the privacy laws that apply to you.

FAQ
-
Is YS LeadGen free?
-
Yes. The core plugin is free with no time limit, no view limit, and no subscriber cap. A separate PRO version adds extra templates and advanced automation, and it is optional.
-
What does PRO add?
-
PRO is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It adds extra premium templates, advanced automation and AI-assisted features, and priority support. See the pricing page.
-
Is there a limit on the number of subscribers or leads?
-
No. Leads are stored in your own WordPress database, so there is no subscriber limit in the plugin. Any limits set by an email service you connect still apply on that service’s side.
-
Where is lead data stored?
-
In your WordPress database. Nothing is sent to an outside service unless you connect an integration, webhook, payment provider, or other service. You can export leads to CSV at any time.
-
Does it work with WooCommerce?
-
Yes. You can trigger campaigns when a product is added to the cart or when a shopper reaches checkout, target products and categories, apply discount codes on signup, and send cart recovery emails.
-
Which email marketing services can I connect?
-
Mailchimp, HubSpot, Brevo, Klaviyo, ActiveCampaign, MailerLite, Kit, GetResponse, AWeber, Drip, and Omnisend. You can connect other services through webhooks, for example with Zapier or Make.
-
Does it work with my page builder?
-
YS LeadGen works with Elementor, Divi, Gutenberg, Bricks, Beaver Builder, and Oxygen.
-
Can I use it with Contact Form 7, WPForms, Gravity Forms, or Fluent Forms?
-
Yes. You can add popup triggers and tracking to forms built with those plugins.
-
Will it slow down my site?
-
Popup code only loads on pages that have an active campaign, so pages without a campaign do not load it.
-
Does it work on mobile?
-
Yes. Campaigns are responsive, and you can show or hide each one by device type. Because phones have no mouse to track, mobile exit intent uses a fast scroll-up gesture or a back-button tap.
-
Can I schedule campaigns or add countdown timers?
-
Yes. Set start and end times so campaigns turn on and off automatically, and add a countdown timer to any campaign.
-
Can I test two versions of a campaign?
-
Yes. A/B testing is included in the free plugin.
-
Which payment providers work inside forms?
-
Stripe, PayPal, and Square. You can set a fixed price or let visitors choose an amount, and test mode lets you try the setup before accepting live payments.
-
Can I move campaigns to another site?
-
Yes. Popups and forms can be exported and imported as JSON files.
-
Is it GDPR compliant?
-
No plugin can make a site compliant on its own. YS LeadGen includes a cookie consent banner, privacy policy acceptance forms, and age verification to help you build consent flows, and it keeps lead data in your own database. You are responsible for configuring it to meet the laws that apply to you.
-
Where can I get help?
-
Post in the plugin’s support forum on WordPress.org, or read the documentation.
